Art Director (Marketing)

Job description

This art director role involves the marketing re-branding of OC--and working on everything marketing related from social media templates, presentation templates, imagery for advertisements, web banners, and email templates. This position also has a lot of room for growth and growing the communications design team. 


The ideal candidate would be an expert with Power Point, Adobe Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop. 

Some experience with motion design and After Effects is a bonus.


Responsibilities:

  • Create coherent visual design across all communication platforms, social media, web banners, advertisements, emails, powerpoint presentations, one-pagers, brochures and print documents

  • Follow style guide and company branding

  • Take ownership of marketing/communications 

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Must be able manage projects and meet deadlines without supervision

  • Experience with branding

  • Fluency in English and French

Requirements

Reports to:

Megan Dodge, Lead Art Director 

Thomas Meister, VP Brand


Knowledge:

  • 3-5+ years experience

  • Strong Portfolio

  • Must have deep understanding of color theory

  • Must have deep understanding of Typography and information hierarchy

  • Must have deep understanding of fundamentals of Graphic design (contrast, composition, ect)

  • Be willing to research and uphold Material Design standards 

  • Must have mastery of photo art direction (and advanced level of Photoshop)

  • Must have demonstrates fundamental of print design

  • Deep understanding of style guides and brand identity

Management:

  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders

  • Ability train new communication designers

  • Ability to communicate clearly with product team

  • Must manage projects and meet deadlines without supervision

Tools:

  • Expert with .Ai and vector manipulation

  • Expert level of Photoshop

  • Expert  level of InDesign

  • Expert with Power Point

  • Experience with After Effects

  • Sketch is nice, but not necessary

Hiring Process

The journey starts with a phone interview and a meeting with Audrey, Hiring Manager.

Then we plan face to face meetings with Megan, Art Director and Romain, CTO

For the final round, you will meet some members of the Tech team and some members of other teams (Student Success, Revenues, Marketing…)

You will be asked to provide us with professional references contact detail.
