Credit Controller

Job description

OpenClassrooms is looking for a Credit Controller (Debt Collection agent) integrated into the Support team. You will work with the various departments (general management, finance, HR, ...) to support them in their projects in France, Europe and beyond!

 

 

REPORTING LINE

 

Reports to the Chief Finance Office

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 


  • Responsible for recording sales data entries in the accounting system and maintain the A/R ledger.

  • Responsible of the revenue cut-off : checking the consistency between invoicing data and accounting sales ledgers, in order to calculate accrued & deferred revenues on a monthly basis.

  • Reconciling and resolving any issues on the sales ledger in coordination with the Sales Operations team.

  • Creating procedures and policies that ensure timely payments while maintaining a high level of customer retention.

  • Improve and implement debt collection processes when there are any overdue invoices or payments, and initiate legal procedures if necessary.

  • Develop the credit control system in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance and company executives.

  • Ensuring credit and collection policies and procedures are followed within the company.

  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries.

  • Weekly and monthly reporting including sales invoicing report, over 90 days report, list of customers on hold, bad debts, DSO reports and any ad-hoc reports as required.

  • Participate to projects at entity or at group level like process automatization, the use of new tools or the completion of new reporting.

Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  • Good IT skills, especially Excel
  • Firm but fair approach. good negotiation skills, ability to speak to a variety of people in varying moods and maintaining good relationships with internal / external stakeholders.

  • High attention to details and good analytical skills.

  • Proactive and problem solving mind set.

  • Excellent time management skills and organisation skills, must be able to work to meet deadlines.

  • Fluent in French and English, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • 5-7 years’ experience

 

HIRING PROCESS

 

The journey starts with a phone interview and a meeting with Audrey, Hiring Manager.

Then we plan face to face meetings with Annette VP FP&A and Jerome, Accountant.

For the final round, you will meet some members of the other teams.
