Today, the Design team is composed of User researchers, UX Writers and Product Designers. Your role will be to lead and manage the Product Designers (6 to 8 people, integrated into squads) and grow the team to the next level.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage Product Designers who work on different OpenClassrooms major product areas and motivate them to do their best and grow every day
  • Scale the team and recruit new Product Designers
  • Support the design team in achieving a high level of quality
  • Establish common knowledge of key concepts, strategies, and brand positioning.
  • Define and maintain design processes to ensure timely delivery
  • Proactively seek ways to enhance department productivity
  • Contribute to design-wide initiatives and shape the design team’s culture
  • Impact business goals through effective and efficient design strategy and relevant processes
  • Collaborate with User researchers and Ux Writers from the Design team
  • Build tight connections with Product Managers, Engineers, Marketing and Data


REPORTING LINE

You’ll report directly to Audrey Hacq, Design Director, and build with her the vision of Design for OpenClassrooms.

 

YOU WILL LOVE THIS JOB IF

  • You possess excellent organisational skills
  • You know how to manage designers from different background with different skills and recruit the right people to grow your team
  • You bring a collaborative approach and belief that the best products are built through a partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering
  • You proactively anticipate needs for different teams and projects
  • You are able to lead design projects from conception, through iteration, and to completion.
  • You master storytelling and can communicate effectively both orally and in writing, both in French and English
  • You have a “systemic” mindset and know-how to maintain a Design system
  • You have an eagerness to give and receive constructive feedback in a transparent work environment


YOUR BACKGROUND

  • 2+ year of successful experience as a Lead Product Designer and as a manager
  • You have an excellent knowledge of UX methodologies, and a technical understanding of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and design tools. 
  • You are familiar with budget and reporting requirements

HIRING PROCESS

  • The journey starts with a first phone call with a member of the Design team
  • Then discuss your skills with with the Product Design team through  a videoconference
  • Then you will meet with a member of the Talent Acquisition team and other team members from outside the Tech Team (Student Success, Revenue, Marketing, etc.) to learn about our values and our company culture
  • For the very final round, you will meet with our CTO to understand the Tech Team’s vision: this is an opportunity for you to understand our upcoming challenges and to ask any remaining questions
  • Finally, you will be asked to provide us with professional references including contact details.
