Our mission at OpenClassrooms is to make education accessible to everyone, everywhere. As such, we’re recruiting thousands of new students every month, in Europe and beyond; growth is the engine we’re relying on to expand our impact and fulfil our mission. 

We know that a strong, vibrant brand is indispensable to increase awareness and consideration among potential customers - students, but also public partners and partnering companies. We already laid the groundwork, now is the time to take OpenClassrooms to the next level and craft an inspiring and impactful brand experience. 

OpenClassrooms is looking for its brand director to lead that endeavour. Reporting to the Chief of Staff and with a dotted line to the VP, Marketing, the Head of Brand will act as the company’s chief brand strategist and brand guardian, and build the right brand narratives at each stage of our customer journeys. 

What will it take for you to succeed in this role? A keen understanding of how to weave brand and impact, articulate thinking about brand activism and brand utility, and ability to build innovative, pioneering brand experiences in line with our mission-driven ethos; and obviously a confirmed brand building expertise in a 100% online environment. 


  • Build a consistent, exciting brand strategy covering the entirety of the OpenClassrooms experience, from sourcing and recruitment to job placement 
  • Build the missing links between mission and customer experience for all OpenClassrooms lines of business  
  • Create the related KPIs for the OpenClassrooms brand: awareness, consideration, conversion and sales; implement the control structure
  • Lead and act as OpenClassrooms' brand ambassador within the company and embed our brand strategy in every department.
  • Work closely with a large number of stakeholders (design, product marketing, product teams etc.) inside and outside the company to implement that strategy
  • Create and implement the right brand assets, in close partnership with all relevant stakeholders 
  • Create and implement the adapted processes to secure consistency and quality throughout the OpenClassrooms journey 
  • Manage the attached budget, manage the work and output of agency partners, assess the work of partners and recruit whatever is missing 


Reporting to the Chief of Staff and with a dotted line to the VP, Marketing.


  • You have the ability to combine data and creativity to create stellar brand experiences
  • You have the ability to combine strategic thinking and strong execution skills, in a fast-paced environment 
  • You have a keen interest for mission-driven, responsible corporate environments 
  • You speak Fluent English 



  • At least 10 years of experience in branding and advertising; agency experience is a must 
  • Knowledge of consumer-facing brands in 100% online environments

  • The journey starts with the first interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
  • Then a videoconference with the Manager of the team you are applying to join
  • This will then be followed by a case study to validate your practical job-related skills 
  • For the very final round, you will meet other team members (Brand & Comms, Learning, Employers & Student Success, Finance…)
  • Finally, you will be asked to provide us with professional references including contact details.
