Testing is evaluating a product by learning about it through exploration and experimentation, which includes to some degree: questioning, study, modelling, observation, inference,... (and plenty of other stuff).

Today, the Quality Engineering Team is composed of Quality Engineers in charge of exploratory testing and implementing test automation. Your role will be to lead and manage them (6 to 8 people, integrated into squads) and grow the team to the next level.

Your primary responsibility is to drive the quality we expect from our product and therefore allow our users to always keep learning whenever and wherever they want!

In this role, you will:

  • Manage Quality Engineers who work on different OpenClassrooms major product areas and motivate them to do their best and grow every day
  • Scale the team and recruit new Quality Engineers
  • Support the Quality Engineering Team in achieving a high level of quality
  • Establish common knowledge of key concepts, strategies, and promote our vision
  • Define and maintain quality processes to ensure timely delivery
  • Proactively seek ways to enhance department productivity
  • Contribute to quality-wide initiatives and shape the quality team’s culture
  • Impact business goals through effective and efficient quality strategy and relevant processes
  • Build tight connections with Product Managers, Engineers, Solution Managers and Data



You’ll report directly to Vincent Dauce, Quality Director, and build with him the vision of Quality for OpenClassrooms.



  • You possess excellent organisational skills
  • You know how to manage quality engineers from different backgrounds with different skills and recruit the right people to grow your team
  • You bring a collaborative approach and belief that the best products are built through a partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering
  • You proactively anticipate needs for different teams and projects
  • You have a “systemic” mindset and know-how to maintain a high level of quality
  • You have an eagerness to give and receive constructive feedback in a transparent work environment
  • You can communicate both orally and in writing in both French and English



  • 2+ years of successful experience as a Lead Quality and as a manager
  • You have an excellent knowledge of testing methodologies, and a technical understanding of the web, API, SQL, and automation tools. 
  • You are familiar with budget and reporting requirements

  • The journey starts with the first interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
  • Then a videoconference with the Manager of the team you are applying to join
  • This will then be followed by a case study to validate your practical job-related skills 
  • For the very final round, you will meet other team members (Brand & Comms, Learning, Employers & Student Success, Finance…)
  • Finally, you will be asked to provide us with professional references including contact details.
