Coaches play a central role at OpenClassrooms: they help students 1 on 1 every get a job. These professionals are selected, onboarded, assigned by the Coaching Team.

 

We are seeking an individual with significant career coaching and management experience to become Coaching Lead. The ideal candidate will bring along a mix of deep career coaching expertise and out of the ordinary people, project, and sales management skills. You are both tactical and strategic. You are able to inspire, motivate, and lead large groups of people (students and coaches) through all kinds of communication channels (in-person, email, video, etc.). You are comfortable in modern state-of-the-art work environments and can’t wait to put your career coaching expertise at the service of one of the most vibrant French startups.  Above all, you are passionate about helping others succeed. You are ready to join an agile and fast-moving structure, with the goal to make education accessible to all.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

By 2025, we expect to place 1M students per year into the workforce. This is why Coaching is key to the success of OpenClassrooms. As the Coaching Lead, you will have 3 roles:

 

  • As a Lead, you will be charge of helping drive the operational impact of the Coaching Team. Along with the VP Mentorship & Coaching and the Planning & Ops Lead, the Coaching Lead discusses the plan, budget and then is in charge of ensuring the team great execution - The Lead is also in charge of ensuring first and foremost Team’s well being at work. The team members all report into the VP as far as their performance management and development plan are concerned.
  • As OpenClassrooms ambitions to train and place 1M students in the workforce by 2025, the Coaching Lead also has an accountability to work on initiatives to scale capacity, ensuring world class quality and mentor/coaching experience with OpenClassrooms. Depending on your background and OpenClassrooms product priorities, you will work on Capacity related projects (sourcing, forecast, assignment automation…), Quality related projects (recruitment, Mentor label, quality check…), or Experience related projects (communication, support…) with a cross team responsibility.
  • Create, implement, and oversee all career coaching activities and initiatives:
  • Recruit top-notch remote career coaches in multiple markets to support our global student population
  • Work together with the Education Team to design and maintain up to date online career coaching resources
  • Ensure operational and financial soundness of the career coaching pole by tracking relevant KPIs such as costs, conversion rates, and the revenue generated by your team
  • Turn Career Coaches and Students into an extension of OpenClassrooms’ sales team by arming them with the tools and resources required to succeed in their job search
  • Manage our Career Coaches workforce in a data-driven fashion making sure that they’re constantly able to generate job applications, interviews, and so on until students land actual job offers and contracts
  • Grow our team of highly qualified Career Coaches from 50 to hundreds - and even thousands down the line - scaling all related activities to maximize efficiencies
  • You will know you’ve been successful when all of our students are able to find a job on their own
  • Track and maximize student satisfaction with respect to career coaching materials and the coaches themselves
  • You will work closely with the Employers and Admissions Teams to ensure that the students joining your Career Coaching program meet the minimum requirements and that the jobs postings made available for students are qualified
  • For those students looking for a job after their graduation, develop, write and maintain a globally-replicable playbook that will results in all of them finding jobs within 6 months of graduation maximum
  • Create, track, analyze and report back on the Career Coaching Team’s KPIs in a repeatable fashion for all internal and external stakeholders
  • Turn existing time-consuming processes into sustainable and scalable automated tasks when possible 

Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent people care: Listening skills, capacity to ensure team well being at work, identifying people issues and solving them to ensure best Employee Net Promoter Score

  • Experience in people management, especially Lead positions, which requires diplomacy and drive

  • Excellent capacity to help a team move forward, removing blockers, enhancing drivers to ensure business impact and people well being at the same time
  • Strong in-person and remote management skills acquired through experience leading large teams
  • Exceptional career coaching skills
  • Ability to inspire, lead, and convince a variety of audiences
  • Perfect understanding of hiring managers’ expectations throughout the recruitment cycle
  • You understand that looking for a job involves sales skills and you can teach that to others
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the talent marketplace (technical recruiting expertise appreciated)
  • Comfortable selecting, implementing, and using multiple SaaS tools and platforms to increase efficiencies
  • Highly analytical with a data-driven approach to management and coaching
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Superb organizational and project management skills
  • Automation mindset
  • Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent English and French communication skills, both written and verbal (C1 level at the very least in both languages)
  • You must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at OpenClassrooms, you will not just be here to tell people what to do

 

DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in business, marketing, HR, or engineering
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience coaching professionals, provide career counseling support and/or tech industry
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • A solid grasp of the apprenticeship landscape (“Alternance”) in France
  • Bonus Points if you have:

·       Remote team management experience

·       Product Management experience

·       Expertise in the global talent marketplace, not just in France
