At OpenClassrooms, the Matching Team proactively matches both “students and employers” and “students and funding programs” in order to help prospective students get the right funding opportunity and the right job for their learning journey, primarily but not solely via apprenticeship contracts. As they receive qualified students applications from the Students Team, the Matching Team then pairs students with qualified job postings from the Employers Team and/or qualified funding programs from the Public Team. Articulated around three operational areas (Career Coaching, Programs & Opportunities, and Financial Aid and Funding), the team leverages data and a variety of tools to automate as many processes and tasks as possible. The Matching Team is at the core of our entire organization and they’re growing!

The Programs & Opportunities area of the Matching Team is in charge of matching students with both employers’ job postings and publicly or privately funded educational programs. We are seeking an individual with significant staffing industry and management experience to lead the Programs & Opportunities Team. The ideal candidate will be extremely well-versed in full-cycle recruiting specifically in the tech talent marketplace. You most likely have multiple years of experience in the staffing industry and get excited about creating the talent marketplace solution of the future.  You are an excellent listener with a high EQ and a keen eye for talent. You often take initiatives and are constantly on the lookout to learn new things. You are ready to join an agile and fast-moving structure, with the goal to make education accessible to all.  


Reports to the VP, Matching.



In this global role, you will:

  • Own the entire matching experience at OpenClassrooms. Your number one objective is to make the matching experience as seamless and efficient as possible for employers, students, and partners alike

    • The phases of the matching process are as follows: 1. Send candidate profiles 2. Employers review them and provide feedback 3. Send additional profiles based on their feedback 4. Students get hired 5. Paperwork and administrative tasks are completed by the Financial Aid & Funding team

  • Hire top talent to build a world-class team of professional matchmakers with a high level of expertise in recruitment (technical recruitment experience appreciated)

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of highly qualified individuals with a wide range of skills

  • Scale the team balancing the constraints of customers demands and operational efficiencies

  • Track and maximize customer satisfaction throughout the matching process as you and your team will be in touch with employers, governmental institutions, and other external stakeholders

  • Develop and document a scalable, though heavily human-based at first, matching algorithm based on skills, competencies, and other relevant criteria

  • Standardize, processize, and automate the matching function as much as possible to lay the ground for the Product Team to continue improving our platform  

  • You will work closely with many internal stakeholders such as the Employers team to ensure job postings are qualified and with the Director of Coaching to present interview-ready only top talent to prospective employers

  • Create, track, analyze and report back on the Programs & Opportunities Team’s KPIs in a repeatable fashion for all internal and external stakeholders

  • Own OpenClassrooms’ Job Placement KPI on a per project basis, to ensure the success of publicly and privately funded programs. For example, you may need to track the time to match or the number of profiles sent before a match, etc

  • Turn existing time-consuming processes into sustainable and scalable automated tasks when possible

  • Document everything you do in the form of a globally-replicable playbook



  • Strong management skills acquired through experience leading large teams

  • Recruiting tech profiles (data, web development, marketing, etc.)

  • Excellent listening and communication skills

  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience partnering with and influencing Sr. hiring managers and executives throughout the recruitment cycle

  • Equally comfortable in customer service and sales environments

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the tech talent marketplace

  • Comfortable selecting, implementing, and using multiple SaaS tools and platforms to increase efficiencies

  • Highly analytical with a data-driven management approach

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills

  • Superb organizational and project management skills

  • Automation mindset

  • Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Excellent English and French communication skills, both written and verbal (C1 level at the very least in both languages)

  • You must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at OpenClassrooms, you will not just be here to tell people what to do


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in business, marketing, HR, or engineering

  • 10+ years of professional experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the staffing industry (staffing agency, headhunting, etc.)

  • 5+ years of management experience

  • 2+ years of startup experience

  • A solid grasp of apprenticeship recruitment dynamics in France

  • Bonus Points if you have:

    • Expertise in full-cycle recruiting for French, US, and UK companies

    • International experience will be considered an asset as we run a global operation
