At OpenClassrooms, the Matching Team proactively matches both “students and employers” and “students and funding programs”. As they receive qualified students applications from the Students Team, the Matching Team then pairs students with qualified job postings from the Employers Team and/or qualified funding programs from the Public Team. Articulated around three operational poles (Career Coaching, Programs & Opportunities Matching, and Financial Aid and Funding), the team leverages data and a variety of tools to automate as many processes and tasks as possible. The Matching Team is at the core of our entire organization and they’re growing!

 

To lead the Matching Team to success, we’re looking for a unique and versatile executive with significant experience in management and process automation, and with exceptional business acumen. The ideal candidate will be extremely well-versed in full-cycle recruiting specifically in the tech talent marketplace. You most likely have a few years of experience in the staffing industry, you also are a strong manager, and get excited about building the talent sourcing solution of the future.  People say you’re a simplifier; you have a natural tendency to automate pretty much any business process or task. You are a team player and have the proven ability to break down silos across the organization. In this role, you will be at the heart of OpenClassrooms collaborating with every department from Sales and Customer Success to Tech and Product. You often take initiatives and are constantly on the lookout to learn new things. You are ready to join an agile and fast-moving structure, with the goal to make education accessible to all.  

 

REPORTING LINE

 Reports to the Chief Revenue Officer.



RESPONSIBILITIES

 In this role, you will:

 

  • Own the entire matching experience at OpenClassrooms. This includes planning, recruiting, training, matching, managing, selling, and automating
  • By 2025, we expect to place 1M students per year into the workforce. You will own OpenClassrooms’ Job Placement KPI to take us there:
    • At the organizational level
    • At the regional, national, and international level, on a per project basis, to ensure the success of publicly and privately funded programs
    • By the end of 2019, you will already have generated a significant amount of revenue from matching apprentices with employers as you work together with the rest of the Revenue Team
  • Hire top talent to structure the Matching Team around three major operational poles:
    • Career Coaching: a network of professional career coaches who not only help make students interview-ready but also are an extension of our sales team seeking qualified job postings and training students in doing the same
    • Financial Aid & Funding: manage the heavy paperwork of apprenticeship contracts and funding programs from start to finish (including billing and invoicing) while automating the process as much as possible
    • Programs & Opportunities Matching: match students with jobs and publicly or privately funded programs while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction for employers and governmental institutions
  • Lead, coach, manage, and develop a team of highly qualified individuals with a wide range of skills
  • Scale the team balancing the constraints of customers demands and operational efficiencies
  • Work across the organization to ensure talent, job, and funding program pools meet the necessary requirements
  • Work closely with the Product Team to both productize and automate the “talent sourcing marketplace of the future” over time
  • Create, track, analyze and report back on the Matching Team’s KPIs in a repeatable fashion for all internal and external stakeholders
  • Turn existing time-consuming processes into sustainable and scalable automated tasks when possible
  • Document everything you and your team do

Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proven track record of exceptional leadership with experience managing large teams
  • Highly detail-oriented and capable of wearing multiple hats
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the tech talent marketplace
  • Comfortable selecting, implementing, and using multiple SaaS tools and platforms to increase efficiencies
  • Highly analytical with a data-driven management approach
  • Strategic thinker who brings solutions to virtually any problems or challenges that come up
  • Automation mindset: you have a natural tendency to eliminate useless tasks and make business processes simple
  • Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent English and French communication skills, both written and verbal (C1 level at the very least in both languages)
  • You must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at OpenClassrooms, you will not just be here to tell people what to do
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in business, marketing or engineering
  • 15+ years of professional experience
  • 10+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the staffing industry (staffing agency, headhunting, etc.)
  • 2+ years of startup experience
  • This is a global role. We require at least 2 years of international experience
  • Bonus Points if you have:
    • A solid grasp of apprenticeship recruitment dynamics in France (and abroad)
    • Expertise in full-cycle recruiting for French, US, and UK customers

 

DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in business, marketing or engineering
  • 15+ years of professional experience
  • 10+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the staffing industry (staffing agency, headhunting, etc.)
  • 2+ years of startup experience
  • This is a global role. We require at least 2 years of international experience
  • Bonus Points if you have:
    • A solid grasp of apprenticeship recruitment dynamics in France (and abroad)
